The Investigation of Indirect Hemaglutınatıon (IHA) test results of patient with early diagnosis Cystic Echinococcosis

INTRODUCTION: Cystic echinococcosis (CE) is an important parasitic disease which is common in the world and our country. In this study, It was aimed to retrospectively evaluate the Indirect Hemaglutination (IHA) test results of patients with suspected cystic echinococcosis sent to the Erzurum Regional Training and Research Hospital Microbiology Laboratory.
METHODS: Between January 2008 and December 2016, the results of 3771 patients who had been sent to our laboratory were evaluated retrospectively.
RESULTS: Serum samples obtained from patients were studied by (IHA) method. Results of 1/160 titer and above were evaluated as positive. 530 (%14,05) of the 3771 patients who were included in the study were found to have positive İHA of the 530 patients evaluated as positive, 310 (%58,49) were female and 220 (41,51%) were male. Positive case numbers were observed to be highest in 25-49 age groups, at least in 0-14 age groups,
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: As a conclusion, we can say that women have higher CE positivity and that the incidence of the disease is higher in middle age group irrespective of sex.

Kistik Ekinokokkozis ön tanılı hastaların İndirekt Hemaglütinasyon (IHA) test sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesi

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Kistik Ekinokokkozis (KE) dünyada ve ülkemizde yaygın şekilde görülen paraziter bir hastalıktır. Bu çalışmada Erzurum Bölge Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Mikrobiyoloji Laboratuarına KE şüphesiyle gönderilen hastaların serumlarında çalışılan İndirekt Hemaglütinasyon (IHA) test sonuçlarının retrospektif değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.


YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Ocak 2008 - Aralık 2016 tarihleri arasında, laboratuarımıza gönderilen 3771 hastanın test sonuçları retrospektif olarak araştırılmıştır.
BULGULAR: Hastalardan elde edilen serum örnekleri IHA metoduyla çalışılmıştır.1/160 ve üzeri sonuçlar pozitif olarak değerlendirilmiştir.Çalışmaya alınan toplam 3771 hastanın 530’unun (%14,05) IHA test sonucu pozitif bulunmuştur.Pozitif olarak değerlendirilen 530 hastanın 310 ‘u (%58,49) kadın, 220’si(%41,51) erkekdi. Pozitif olgu sayılarının 25-49’lu yaş gruplarında en fazla (%43,21), 0-14’lü yaş gruplarında en az (%10,75), olduğu saptanmıştır.


TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Kadınlarda IHA pozitifliğinin daha fazla olduğu ayrıca cinsiyet ayırımı yapılmaksızın orta yaş grubunda pozitiflik oranının daha fazla olduğu görülmektedir.
