Investigation of the effects of protozoa on the growth of pathogen bacteria in the intestine

Aim: This study was performed to investigate the possible counter effects of the protozoa and the pathogen bacteria in the intestine together with their percentages of coexistence. Method: In the first group of the study, 50 patients who are found protozoa in their stool examination were used. In the second group, the stool samples were examined in 50 patients who are not found protozoa. Results: In the first group of 50 patients, 3 (6%) Salmonella typhi, 1 (2 %) Shigella dysenteriae, totally 4 (8%) pathogen bacteria were found, in the second group of 50 patient, it was not found any pathogen bacteria. Conclusion: At the end of the study, in the stool samples found protozoon, it was found possible pathogen bacteria growth paralel with the conclusion in similar studies and it is concluded that these two tests should be planned together.

Patojen Bakterilerin Üremesi Üzerine Protozoonların Etkileri

Amaç: Bu çalışma, barsak protozoonları ve barsak patojeni bakterilerin birbirleri üzerine olabilecek muhtemel etkilerinin ve birlikte bulunma oranlarının araştırılması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışmanın birinci grubunu, dışkı incelemesinde protozoon saptanan 50 hasta oluşturmuştur. İkinci grupta ise protozoon saptanmayan 50 hastaya ait dışkı örneği incelemeye alınmıştır. Bulgular: Yapılan inceleme sonucunda protozoon saptanan birinci gruptaki 50 hastanın 3’ünde (%6) Salmonella typhi, 1’inde (%2) Shigella dysenteriae olmak üzere toplam 4 dışkı örneğinde (%8) patojen bakteri saptanırken, protozoon saptanmayan ikinci gruptaki 50 dışkı örneğinden hiçbir patojen izole edilememiştir. Sonuç: Protozoon saptanan dışkı örneklerinde patojen bakteri üreme olasılığı bulunduğu saptanmış olup, her iki incelemenin birlikte planlanmasının uygun olacağı kanaatine varılmıştır.
