The editorial and publication processes of the journal are shaped according to the guidelines of the International Council of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and European Association of Science Editors (EASE).
Aims and Scope
Van Medical Journal is the non-profit, periodical scientific publication of Van Yuzuncu Yıl University Faculty of Medicine. Since 1997, it has been published regularly and uninterruptedly, 4 issues a year, in January, April, July and October. The official publication languages ??of the journal are Turkish and English, but we encourage researchers all articles uploaded to our journal to be in English.
Van Medical Journal is a peer-reviewed, open access international journal aiming to serve the scientific world by publishing articles in the titles of clinical research, review, case report and letter to the editor conducted in all fields of medicine.
Van Medical Journal encourages and provides faculty members, research assistants and specialist physicians to publish valuable research in all branches of medicine. In order for the submitted articles to be published in the journal, they must not have been previously published in another scientific publication, even in another language, and must not be under evaluation in another journal. If the submitted article has been presented in any meeting before; the name of the meeting, the date and the city where the meeting was held should be specified.
Editorial Structure
The Editor-in-Chief has full authority regarding the scientific content of the Van Medical Journal and the publication time of the content. The Editor-in-Chief also makes the initial evaluation of the incoming articles and decides whether to appoint an associate editor or reject the article. Associate editors appoint the referees, Statistics Editor and Language Editor related to the subject after the evaluation of the article, manage the revision processes and make the recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief after all processes. Unless there is an important mistake (lack of Ethical Consent, inconsistencies in the article, etc.), the Editor-in-Chief does not oppose the recommendations of the associate editors. Statistics Editors evaluate all articles sent to them statistically. The Language Editor evaluates the article content in terms of language proficiency. If an editor is concerned about the integrity of the work, he may reject any article at any time before it is published, including after it has been accepted.
Open Access Statement
Our journal is an open access journal meaning that all content is freely available to the user. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without prior permission from the publisher or author.
