Evaluation of the Prick Test, Intradermal Test and RAST Results of the Atopic Asthmatic Patients Followed-up in Asthma Out-patients Clinic

Asthma Clinic of Chest Diseases Department of Uludağ University Medical Faculty was established in 1991. We chosed 30 atopic and 20 nonatopic subjects in between asthma clinics' patients to evaluate the results of skin prick test to common aeroallergens and also we evaluated intradermal and RAST results besides prick test in atopic asthmatics. We did not observed a positive reaction to standard solution of common allergens in nonatopic asthmatics. In atopic asthmatics we observed positive reaction frequently to house dust mite allergens, animal hair and epithels, grass polens in intradermal and prick tests. When we evaluated the specific IgE levels against allergens in serum of these patients by RAST, we observed the highest IgE levels against Dermaphagoides Ptressinus (D.P) and Dermaphagoides Farinae (DF), grass polens and animal epithels and hair. We observed that the whole atopic asthmatics (the 60 % of all asthmatic patients) had specific immune response to house dust mites. We discussed our results according to current literature data.

Astma Polikliniğimizde İzlenmekte Olan Atopik Bronşiyal Astmalı Olgularda Prick, İntradermal Deri Testleri ve Rast Yöntemi Sonuçlarının Değerlendirilmesi*

Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göğüs Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalının 1991 yılında kurulan Astma polikliniğine düzenli olarak kontrole gelen hastalar arasından seçilen 30 atopik, 20 nonatopik astmalı olgunun prick deri testi ve atopik astmalıların intradermal test ile radioallergosorbent testleri (RAST) değerlendirildi. Nonatopik astmalılarda sık rastlanılan allerjenlerin standart hazırlanmış solüsyonları ile yapılmış olan prick deri testinde pozitif reaksiyon saptanmadı. Atopik astmalılarda ise prick ve intradermal deri testlerinde en sık pozitif reaksiyon veren allerjenleri ev tozu akarı, hayvan epitel tüy ve kepekleri ile çim polenleri oluşturmaktaydı. RAST yöntemi ile yüksek spesifik IgE antikoru en sıklıkla akar, çimen, hayvan epitel tüy ve kepeklerinden kaynak alan allerjenlere karşı saptandı. Atopik astmalıların hepsinde, tüm astmalıların %60'ında ev tozu akarlarına karşı oluşmuş spesifik bir immün yanıt saptandı.
