Earthquake: What is Post Traumatic Normal? Where Does the Psychopathology Begin?

On February 6, 2023, we were unexpectedly confronted with the fact that our homes, where we felt safe, were actually in danger. It is known that individuals who encounter such traumatic processes show some psychological symptoms, how diverse these symptoms can be, and how unique and distinctive each person experiences the process of trauma and mourning. While the symptoms experienced in the early period after exposure to trauma are a normal process, it is accepted that a psychopathology begins when these symptoms are prolonged and lead to a decrease in the person's functionality. In the treatment process, individuals should be well evaluated and a personalized treatment process should be planned.

6 Şubat 2023 günü yaşadığımız deprem ile beklenmedik bir biçimde kendimizi güvende hissettiğimiz evlerimizin aslında tehlikede olduğu gerçeğiyle yüzleştik. Bu tür travmatik süreçlerle karşılaşan bireylerin ruhsal olarak bazı belirtiler gösterdiği, bu belirtilerin ne kadar çeşitli olabildiği ve her insanın travma ve yas sürecini ne kadar eşsiz ve biricik olarak yaşadığı bilinmektedir. Travmaya maruziyetten sonra erken dönemde görülen belirtiler normal bir süreç iken bu belirtilerin uzaması ve kişinin işlevselliğinde azalmaya yol açması ile bir psikopatolojinin başladığı kabul edilir. Tedavi sürecinde kişiler iyi değerlendirilmeli ve kişiye özel bir tedavi süreci planlanmalıdır.
